Day Twelve

Power Rangers RPM (also Killjoys)
Packing Explosives in a Suitcase by butyoumight
[T, Dillon/Ziggy, Jet Star/Summer, 27,202 words]
Written for crossbigbang, this wonderful fic brings the worlds of the Fabulous Killjoys and Power Rangers RPM together. It's an excellent introduction to RPM for those coming from the My Chem bandom, and a decent introduction to the Danger Days album universe for those coming from Power Rangers. Drawing parallels between characters and roles, it's finely crafted, funny, upsetting at times, and just a fun read all around. Even if you have no interest in Power Rangers (or My Chem/Killjoys for that matter), it's still worth a read.

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (and the greater Sentai fandom)
TV-Nihon
This is my favorite fansubber right now. While they have many projects going on, I'm putting them here specifically for their collection of Sentai and Kamen Rider subs. My introduction to Tokusatsu (if you don't count Power Rangers) was their sub of Engine Sentai Go-onger, and I have to say I was impressed from the get go. I can't comment on whether or not their translations are more accurate than other Toku subbers (except that they, thankfully, don't translate "baka" to "retard" like a certain other subber), but I much prefer the style of their subs. Often described as "flashy", they have been known to use color coding, different fonts, and graphics to illustrate points, which I like. They also keep honorific suffixes in their subs, and leave some words untranslated (with notes up top), such as attacks, for emphasis. They're a bit slower on their weekly subs than the other two current Sentai subbers, but I don't mind waiting a few extra days for subs. I like to watch the raws on the day the episode airs, and then the subs later in the week; it breaks of the wait for the next episode quite nicely.

This is probably the best site for an introduction to Gokaiger (or the other Sentai/Kamen Rider series they have available), since the best introduction is always the actual canon itself. Download an episode or two, or torrent the first chunk of a series, and learn!

An Introduction to: Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger & Introduction and first impression on Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger
A couple of blog entries detailing impressions of the first episode of Gokaiger. Nice little write ups of the gist of the series. They also explain why Gokaiger doubles as both a nice introduction to the Sentai franchise for newcomers and a nostalgic romp for seasoned Sentai veterans. Both have bits of beginner information on each of the characters, and they give passing impressions of the style of fights and themes of the show beyond the fact that it's a special anniversary season.

TV Tropes: Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger
If you're like my wife and like reading Tropes before, or just at the beginning of, getting into a new fandom, this is obviously the only proper source for that. If you don't mind spoilers this is actually a fine introduction; come and see why this show is so much fun for us fans!
